Systems Engineer (SME Level)

Active TS/SCI clearance required.

We’re hiring a Systems Engineer to lead the lifecycle management of digital access control policies. You’ll translate legal and security mandates into actionable technical workflows across the IAM ecosystem — from attribute-based access controls (ABAC) and dynamic policy engines to auditing certified data repositories — supporting least-privilege environments that hold up under rigorous internal audits and external regulatory scrutiny.

This is a role for someone who thinks in both policy and architecture, and can synthesize the two into compliance approaches that actually work in production.

What You’ll Do

• Translate digital policies and governance actions into operational processes aligned with existing technical solutions, with clear recommendations for internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with mission partners, data stewards, and steward representatives to convert policy requests into high-level implementable requirements
• Guide service teams on digital policy oversight, including Just-in-Time (JIT) access policies that grant access only when pre-approved conditions are met
• Apply AI techniques for data and policy components — anomaly detection, policy application, and related workflows
• Build and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track governance and policy performance

Must Haves

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• BS in STEM or related field, with 12+ years of relevant experience in IAM
• Deep knowledge of Identity, Credential, and Access Management delivery systems, authentication, authorization, and attribute architectures
• Experience with data and governance principles, compliance, and metadata management
• Strong critical thinking — able to balance technical solutions against policy and compliance constraints
• Excellent communication; can convey technical insights to both policy and mission audiences

Nice to Haves

• Governance and metadata platforms (Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc.)
• Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) policy and Zero Trust security policy
• Automation pipelines or AI-enabled data governance tools
• Background in policy, governance, or compliance environments
