CleverDBA is a veteran-owned IT staffing subcontractor serving U.S. federal prime contractors. We place cleared data, cloud, software, and AI professionals on contracts that need senior, mission-ready engineers — not bench-warmers.
Founded in 2018, CleverDBA was built on a simple premise: pay engineers fairly, hold the line on quality, and give primes a sub they can hand the hard problems to.

Mark’s core strengths: Oracle and SQL Server migrations to PostgreSQL — including the PL/SQL rewrites and the automated migration tooling he built and deployed at customer sites worldwide — Python and Pandas-based ETL, expert AWS DevOps, and the deep Linux and performance tuning expertise that makes the whole stack actually run in production.
Three decades in the field, with hands on everything from Oracle 6 in the early 90s to AWS-native Postgres and containerized data pipelines today. Past clients include Northrop Grumman, Leidos, Raytheon, Nightwing, and GDIT. Today, Mark builds ETL pipelines, designs schemas, and tunes systems so that data scientists, methodologists, and ML engineers can work with the data instead of fighting it.
He’s also a prolific technical writer — architecture documents, design standards, SOPs, and how-tos. The deliverables that outlive the engineer who wrote them.
When he isn’t elbow-deep in a migration plan or a query that won’t behave, he’s mentoring junior engineers, reviewing architectures, or debating indexing strategy.
